Boffins Books is delighted to join the City of Perth Library for an exclusive in-conversation with author and comedian Sashi Perera and Jordan Nix, where they discuss Sashi’s new book, Standstill: The Art of Evading My Problems Across Three Continents.
After cancelling a destination wedding in Sri Lanka at the eleventh hour, most people would take a moment to regroup. Not Sashi – she embarks on working with international refugee organisations around the world, whilst trying to find her lost identity, figure out her relationship status and coming to the realisation that she is hesitant to get any of the above back again. Standstill is a memoir of reluctant self-discovery by a person forced towards a mirror kicking and screaming, finally looking in and saying, Oh sh!t.
