Events Fay Zwicky: Her Life and Work

The City of Perth Library, UWA Institute of Advanced Studies, UWA Publishing and Boffins Books are proud to present a celebration of Fay Zwicky’s life, craft and legacy with the editors of The Collected Poems, Lucy Dougan and Tim Dolin, and the poet John Kinsella.

Fay Zwicky was one of Australia’s most celebrated poets. An erudite, passionate and inventive poet, she released seven collections and won numerous awards during her career. In July UWA Publishing released The Collected Poems of Fay Zwicky, days before she passed away.

About The Collected Poems of Fay Zwicky

This volume collects all of Fay Zwicky’s poetry, including previously uncollected and unpublished poems. It reveals an erudite, passionate, and highly inventive poet, whose consummate control of her craft places her at the summit of Australian poetry. 

About Fay Zwicky

Fay Zwicky has published eight books of poetry, the most recent of which is Picnic (Giramondo, 2006). She has also edited several anthologies of Australian poetry, published a book of short stories, Hostages (FACP, 1983) and a collection of critical essays, The Lyre in the Pawnshop (UWAP, 1986). Her awards include the NSW Premier’s Award, the WA Premier’s Award, the Patrick White Award and the Christopher Brennan Award.
