Boffins books are delighted to partner with Luna Palace Cinemas as they present a special screening of VOYAGE OF THE SOUTHERN SUN to coincide with the Australian Geographic Voyage of the Southern Sun National Screening Day Sunday, October 29, 4pm at Windsor Cinema, the day before the book is released into bookstores.
The film highlights Michael Smith’s (owner of the Sun Theatre Yarraville) journey of true adventure in a solo circumnavigation in his tiny amphibious flying boat, Southern Sun, that retraced historical Qantas, Imperial and Pan Am airmail routes, in search of the glory days of 1930’s aviation.
It’s a story about cinema and local community, as much as the round the world flight, that saw Michael named Adventurer of the Year. So come along with family and friends and share in the truly adventure of a lifetime.
Copies of the Voyage of the Southern Sun book will be available to purchase before and after the screening.
A share of the proceeds from the film will go to Australian Geographic Society and Screens without Borders.
