The inaugural Spring in the City celebrations will conclude in fine style on Friday 9 October with Stephanie Alexander, the undisputed doyenne of Australian food.
Stephanie will be signing copies of her major new book Stephanie Alexander's Kitchen Garden Companion. What better way is there to wrap up a week of fine food in the city before the weekend of festivities in The Valley? To coincide with the annual Spring in the Valley celebrations, Perth's Boffins Bookshop is bringing Spring to the City. Commencing on Monday 5 October, five of Australia's leading chefs will appear at lunchtimes throughout the working week at Boffins. The week will feature four of WA's most celebrated local chefs - Jude Blereau, Emmanuel Mollois, Kate Lamont and Theo Kalogeracos - and the queen of Australian cooking, Stephanie Alexander. The culinary delights of each chef will be on show with samples of some of their signature dishes free to all who attend. **Stephanie Alexander** is one of Australia's most highly regarded food writers. Stephanie has written eleven books, including Kitchen Garden Cooking with Kids and Stephanie Alexander & Maggie Beer's Tuscan Cookbook. Her signature publication, The Cook's Companion, was originally published in 1996 and has established itself as the kitchen bible in nearly 400,000 homes. A second edition of The Cook's Companion was published in 2004.
