From debut Melbourne writer Nina Kenwood, I saw a lot of press about this book and I felt like it was telling me I had to read it.

It took a minute to get into this one but it was one of those surprise books that hook you suddenly and then you can't put it down.

Natalie is a shy, introverted 18 year old, getting ready to head into University when her parents drop the big Divorce bombshell. On Christmas Day. Except they don't appear to be all that upset about it?

Her best friends Zach and Lucy are in a relationship with their own problems and she is feeling slightly isolated and third wheel-ish.
Also, after suffering from a severe acne condition for a lot of her life, her self esteem needs a serious boost.

When new love starts to blossom, nobody really knows what to expect, including Natalie and she learns that she needs to start telling people out loud how she feels, instead of only in her head.

I love Natalie. She is quiet and meek but also strong and mighty all at once. Her true colours are right there for all to see and she doesn't pretend to be someone she's not. Her honesty and her vulnerability are totally relatable and she is such an awesome friend to Zach and Lucy! Reading this book took me back to my final year of high school and reminded me of all the emotions I was going through as a teenager.

I really enjoyed the realness

Overall, I thought this was a great read for those who like contemporary YA about strong women, a bit of romance and and the honesty and awkwardness of being a teen.
