In 2019 the Western Australian Parliament engaged in a long and emotional debate on legalising Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD). This book provides an insider's account of the WA parliamentary debate, while also detailing the community campaign. The narrative moves between the first and third person, recollecting the author's personal contribution to, and observation of the debate.

Additionally, through extensive interviews, the author provides insights and views of many of the players, reflecting their emotions and values. The book documents the strategy of the WA Government as it aimed to pass legislation to legalise VAD in WA. In addition, the strategies and tactics of those opposing VAD are examined. This book provides the reader with a unique insight into the historic parliamentary and community debate that led to legalising VAD in WA.
