A paid horror camp experience turns deadly.
All Fall Down by Sally Nicholls – FINALLY! Something about the plague! Historical fiction for middle to young adult readers, I’m very excited about this one because it looks like a very interesting perspective of survival during one of the deadliest times in human history. 12+
Tangled in Time : The Portal by Kathryn Lasky (author of popular fantasy series Guardians of Ga’hoole)– this is in our primary section but is another one of those books that crosses the divide and is perfect for readers looking for something a little bit lighter. This is a time travelling historical journey where Rose, our main character befriends Henry VIII’s banished daughter Elizabeth. Ages 10+ (Character is 12)
The Astrid Notes by Taryn Bashford – another YA contemporary, this time with more grit. This book is about self discovery, support and friendship. It’s about overcoming adversity and being who you are. 14+
Under a Dancing Star by Laura Wood – Ahhh, a timeless romance. I love drama. It reads like a classic teen romance but with a bit of a difference. It is set in the 1930’s, Italy and draws on the bohemian culture of the art world. It’s not so cliché. It’s magic, YA contemporary. 14+
